Letter to Parents of Young People.......

Parents,

The purpose of Bible Study is to foster and cultivate your child’s relationship with God through the reading and understanding of His word.  Even more important than your child’s education is your child’s Christian education.

Please ensure that your child is studying the word EVERY DAY.  It has to become part of their routine.  If they see you studying the word, it will encourage them to do the same.  Parents have a vial role in the spiritual growth of their children.  It is your responsibility:   Hear O Israel!  The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.  And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.  And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today.  Repeat them again and again to your children.  Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again.  Tie them to your hands as a reminder, and wear them on your forehead.  Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”  Deuteronomy 6:4-9
God is telling us through this scripture that we must teach His word to our children.

After the death of Joshua and that generation of Israelites, the Bible says that another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. It goes on to say that this generation abandoned God to serve Baal and other gods of the people around them.  (Judges 2:8-15)
I believe that this will happen to this generation of our young people if we do not make absolutely sure that they are sure of their own salvation and that they are rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ.

My sincere prayer for all young people as well as for you, the parents, is the same prayer that Paul had for the church at Philippi.  “I pray that your love for each other will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in your knowledge and understanding.  For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until Christ returns.  May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation – those good things that are produced in your life by Jesus Christ – for this will bring much glory and praise to God. (Philippians 1:9-11)

To God be the glory!

  1. Amen! In every situation (whether good or bad) my goal as a mother is to insert Jesus so my children see that He is absolutely interested in "every" aspect of their lives.
